Bandipora, Aug 26 (KINS): Bandipora Police on Wednesday organised a knockout cricket tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police at Habba Khatoon Stadium in Dawar, Gurez.
The tournament was inaugurated by the SDPO Gurez and SHO Gurez.
A total of 16 teams are taking part in the tournament, giving local youth an opportunity to showcase their cricketing skills and participate in healthy sporting activities.
Speaking on the occasion, the police officers said sports help engage youth in positive activities while promoting discipline, teamwork and healthy competition.
The tournament also aims to strengthen police-public relations and increase community participation in Gurez.
Bandipora Police said more such sports and community-oriented programmes would be organised under the Civic Action Programme to provide youth with positive opportunities.(KINS)
