WPD seizes leopard skin, other animal body parts in Kashmir, Jammu


Srinagar Jan 30 (KINS): Wild Life Protection Department today seized leopard skins and other body parts at Anantnag, Kashmir and Manwal, Jammu.
  “Acting on the credible inputs developed by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Department of Wildlife Protection, J&K in coordination with WCCB, JK Police Department and Forest Protection Force   carried out the simultaneous coordinated search, arrest and seizures at two places.
During the operations, the Department of Wildlife Protection seized significant quantities of leopard skin, other leopard body parts at both the locations and bear gallbladders, musk pods, at Anantnag, Kashmir.
 In both the cases the kingpins have been apprehended alongwith contraband material.
After due process, the Department of Wildlife Protection filed offence report for filing FIR in the respective police stations, and handed over the accused to the police authorities.
Further details are being investigated which will yield more information in future.(KINS)
