Srinagar Police arrests drug peddler; contraband substance recovered


Srinagar, Feb 08 (KINS): Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs from the society, Police in Srinagar have arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Rainawari headed by SHO PS Rainawari established a checkpoint at Kathidarwaza Rainawari where they intercepted a person identified as Bilal Ahmad Shah @ Sagar resident of Makhdoom Sahib Rainawari, Srinagar. During checking, officers were able to recover 134 grams of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a  case vide  FIR No. 05/2021 under relevant sections of  law has been registered in Police Station Rainawari and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(KINS)
