SSP Kupwara Evaluates Flood Situation, Assures Public of Full Support

Kupwara, April 30, 2024 – The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Kupwara, along with his team, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the flood situation in the district. Addressing media personnel, the SSP reassured the public that the situation is under control, and the police department has taken proactive measures to assist those affected by the floods.
Following heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in certain areas of Kupwara, the SSP promptly mobilized resources to evaluate the extent of the damage and coordinate rescue and relief efforts. Upon assessing the situation on the ground, he informed the media that while some areas have been affected by the floods, the overall situation is being managed effectively by the authorities.
“The police department, in coordination with other relevant agencies, has been closely monitoring the flood situation in Kupwara,” stated the SSP. “I can confirm that the situation is under control, and necessary measures are being taken to provide assistance to the affected residents.”
In addition to deploying personnel for rescue operations, the police department has issued a helpline number, which is accessible through its official website and social media platforms. This helpline is intended to facilitate communication between the public and the authorities, allowing individuals to report emergencies, seek assistance, and receive updates on the flood situation.
“We urge the public to utilize the helpline provided by the police department in case of any emergency or assistance required related to the flood situation,” emphasized the SSP. “Our teams are on standby to respond promptly to any calls for help.”
By establishing effective communication channels, the authorities aim to streamline rescue and relief operations and provide timely assistance to those in need.
As the assessment of the flood-affected areas continues, the SSP reiterated the commitment of the police department to work in tandem with other agencies and community stakeholders to address the challenges posed by the natural disaster. He urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the authorities to mitigate the impact of the floods and ensure the safety of all residents in Kupwara.
