Fire damages residential house in Baramulla

Yaqoob Lala

Srinagar, Nov 17 (KINS): A fire erupted in the Kralhar area of Baramulla during the intervening night of Saturday, severely damaging a residential house.
The fire also caused damage to the roof of a nearby local health center, adding to the losses.
Fire tenders were rushed to the scene and eventually brought the blaze under control.
However news agency KINS reported that the residents expressed dissatisfaction with the fire department’s response time. “We tried calling the fire service on their landline, but could not get through. We had to go in person to inform them before they arrived,” a local said.
The incident has sparked calls for improved communication channels. “The fire department should have mobile numbers readily accessible to ensure quicker response times during emergencies,” another resident suggested.
While no casualties were reported the investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.(KINS)
