Div Com reviews Ramzan arrangements in Jammu districts


JAMMU, MARCH 16: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan in the districts of Jammu division here at a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and concerned departments.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Director FCS&CA, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Joint Director, Sheep Husbandry besides senior functionaries of Police, Traffic, Health, Urban Local Bodies, JMC, Legal Metrology, JPDCL, Jal Shakti, Auqaf and other concerned, while the Deputy Commissioners along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com about the arrangements being put in place by their respective district administration for the holy month.
The Divisional Commissioner impressed upon the concerned officer to ensure adequate arrangements to avoid inconvenience to the people. He directed the officers of JPDCL to ensure regular power supply during the holy month especially during Sehri and Iftar. He further instructed the Jal Shakti department to ensure adequate supply of water in all areas of Jammu.
Director FCS&CA informed that adequate stock of essential commodities like rice, flour and sugar was available and regular supply to the districts would be maintained.
The Div Com asked all Deputy Commissioners to ensure the availability of essential commodities in their respective districts and display of rate lists by shopkeepers.
He also exhorted upon the JMC authorities to ensure better sanitation arrangements, besides installation and repairing of street lights in the city and around important religious places.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the concerned departments to work with dedication and synergy so that people do not face any inconvenience during the holy month.
The Deputy Commissioners were directed to hold meeting with all the concerned departments to review and ensure timely arrangements.
