COVID warriors: Mankind Pharma donates Rs 30 lakh to 6 families of Kashmir’s deceased doctors

Srinagar April 12 (KINS): Emotional scenes were witnessed at a local hotel here when people from various walks of life remembered six deceased doctors who died while fighting COVID-19 in Kashmir.

The event was organized by New Delhi based pharmaceutical company Mankind Pharma where its representatives paid rich tributes to doctors, nurses, and paramedics staff for their selfless service in the difficult time.

The Mankind Pharma also donated Rs 30 lakh to six families of the deceased doctors of Kashmir. The function was attended by Director SKIMS Soura Professor A G Ahangar, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Medical Superintendent Pulwama Hospital Dr Jameel Ahmad Mir, CMO Budgam Dr Tajamul Hussain Khan, and MS SKIMS Soura Dr G H Yatoo besides Dr Mir Mushtaq, Dr Masood Rashid, Dr Javeed Mir, Dr Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Dr Yasir Wani, families of the deceased, and representatives of several media organizations.

Participants in the function could not hold tears when families of the deceased narrated how they were missing their loved ones and feel proud that these doctors died as martyrs while being on the frontline to fight the COVID-19.

On the occasion, Director SKIMS lauded the services rendered by the doctors and nursing staff in hospitals during the pandemic. Several doctors also suggested that Mankind Pharma that they should also donate for nurses and paramedics and appreciate their work who also died due to COVID-19. (KINS)
