DAT conducts administrative inspection of Treasury at Pancheri

JAMMU, JULY 07( KINS ): Director Accounts & Treasuries, Jammu Neeraj Gupta Bakshi today conducted an administrative inspection of the Government Treasury at Panchari.

Accompanied by District Treasury Officer, Udhampur and Inspection Team, besides inspecting the Treasury record and its maintenance, the DAT directed Treasury Officer to ensure timely clearance of liabilities/bills/claims presented in the Treasury. She warned that there should be “Zero Tolerance’ towards Corruption.

She directed the Treasury Officer and Staff members to keep a strict vigil on the bills/claims received and release the payments after thorough verification.

“Since the Treasuries are the face of the Finance Department, smooth and efficient functioning of the Treasuries must be the top priority” the DAT said. She directed the Treasury Officer to adhere to all codal provisions/rules/orders/circulars/SROS issued by the Finance Department to maintain public confidence and trust in the system.

While reviewing the performance regarding Computerization of Treasuries, It was informed that the Treasury is fully computerized and is working online. Moreover, the Treasury is submitting computerized accounts to the concerned quarters. She also advised the Treasury Officer to ensure timely uploading of the NPS subscription to the Agency Bank within the stipulated time frame for effective monitoring of public money.

Regarding pension cases on account of SRO-222, the DAT was told that only 02 such cases were pending in the Treasury for payment.

The Director Accounts & Treasuries further directed the Treasury Officer to redress the public issues/grievances on priority so as to provide hassle free service to the people. The DAT appreciated the Treasury Officer for installing the Complaint & Suggestion Box in the Treasury premises. ( KINS )
