Khanda’s Khumanie FC lifts DFA Knockout Football Tournament, beats Gauhar FC by 1:0

Budgam: Khanda Khumanie FC emerged as winners of the DFA Knockout Football Tournament-2021 by defeating Gauhar FC by 1-0 goals in the final match at SK Stadium, Chattergam.

Both the teams dominated their sides from the start. Spectators who had come in large numbers were supporting Khumanie FC. Seeing the wave turning out to be helpful for the Khumanie FC, Gauhar FC tried to consolidate their position in the game by making counterattacks. The first half was in favour of both the teams.

Meanwhile, it was in the second half and the last five minutes of the game, when a young lad Yasir from Khumanie pass the ball to his team’s midfielder player Yawar, who succeeded in converting the ball into goal.

Khumanie maintained lead with the one goal till the final whistle. Gauhar FC players, however, made several attempts to equalise the game but unfortunately they failed to crush the defence line of the Khumanie FC and thus lost the match by a 1:0.

Gauhar FC was applauded for their performance despite the team lost their final game against the Khumanie FC.

Around 16 teams from district Budgam participated in the DFA Knockout Football Tournament which was organised by DFA Budgam.

After the game, a prize distribution ceremony was held. Trophies were distributed to both the winners and runner-up teams, whereas Yawar was declared as man of the match.

Congratulating the winning team, the organiser Showkat Hussain said, ‘’Both the teams played quite impressive Football. Khanda deserve the game as they are one of the best teams in the district.” He, however, congratulated runner-up team for their game as according to him, winning and losing are the part of the game.
