237 FIR Challaned Against 320 Accused; 56 Convicted; REASI POLICE

 Reasi, JUlY 31 (KINS ) After a slight relief in second wave COVID-19, Reasi Police geared up its teams on crime front and produced 237 charge-sheets against 320 accused, in courts of law. Some of them have been adjudicated during Lok Adalat and pre-Lok Adalat.

Sub division Reasi concluded investigations in 112 cases and produced charge-sheets against accused in the Court of law, Reasi.

Investigation of 65 cases of Subdivision Katra was concluded and produced in the court of law during the period.

Subdivision Mahore produced 40 final reports in court of law after concluding the investigation.

Whereas charge-sheets in  20 cases produced in the courts of law by Subdivision Arnas with a lone police station.

In toto 226 chargesheets were produced in respective courts of law against 305 accused persons.

Among them 49  cases were heinous in crime and required meticulous investigation with forensic expert opinions to prove allegations beyond any doubt. It includes 05 Murder cases, 03 Attempt to murder, 14 cases under NDPS Act, 15 Rape cases and 02 millitancy related cases which were finalized and submitted for judicial determination.

Whereas investigation of 20 cases was done with small details that accused persons succumbed before trial & compromised between with victim parties.

Another 56 cases were also challaned only after proper detailed investigation & following minute details where accused had no option but to plead guilty. All 56 cases ended in conviction.

Investigation in 18 cases which were long pending far a period of more than two years also concluded and produced in respective courts during this drive.

SSP Reasi Sh Shailender Singh geared up investigating officers of district police Reasi, identified as many as 302 long pending cases & inquests for want of pending reports of FSL, medical examination & revenue department. District Police Office took up with concerned departments & follow up was made through dedicated officers.

More than 300 reports were procured & equal number of cases of investigation have been brought in to logical conclusion in short time.

Reasi Police completed investigations in many other cases during lockdown period and finished desk work of feeding in CCTNS portal and ready to be physically produced before the court of law.

SSP conveyed that prevention and detection of crime is the main duty of Police and it can be possible only with free and fair investigation of the cases so that accused can be convicted & victims get their due justice through the law of the land.(KINS)
