Threat of 3rd wave of Covid-19 still looming; appeal people not to down-size precautions: DC B’gam

 BUDGAM, AUGUST 10 ( KINS ): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shabaz A Mirza today warned that the threat of 3rd wave of Covid-19 Pandemic is still looming large and need of an hour is that people should not down-size adherence to precautions.

During his routine briefing to the media on COVID-19 status, the DC informed that presently there are 78 active positive patients in the district. He said that the recovery rate is at 99.7 percent while positivity rate is at 0.5 percent and besides the vaccination in the age group of 45 years and above is almost completed.

For Vaccination in the age group of 18 to 44, vaccination drive is going on in full swing, the DC said, adding that COVID-19 has not declined and still poses great risk.

He said some new cases have been reported, and the district administration is vigilant to prevent further spread.

About the Muharram period, the DC said that the containment measures will continue and hope that this period will pass on satisfactorily and the public shall follow all mandated COVID-19 SOPs.
