Ahead of I-Day, security forces recover IED in Mendhar area of Poonch

Jammu, Aug 13 (KINS ) Security forces on Friday averted a tragedy ahead of Independence Day celebrations by recovering an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

“On specific inputs, joint teams of police, Army and para military troops this afternoon launched search operation in Kotian area of Mendhar, close to the LoC,” police said.

They said that an IED was recovered, which was fitted in a bottle.

“Bomb disposal squads have been pressed into service,” police added.
