PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 08 ( KINS ): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today inaugurated Power Lifting Championship organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports at Sports Stadium here.
The championship is the part of ongoing activities being organised for local youth by the District Administration.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the youth of Pulwama for excelling in academics, Art, Sports and in new trending careers. He added that Youth of Pulwama has brought laurels to the district and have shined in all fields which add value to life.
He said that sporting activities lead to a healthy lifestyle and are pivotal in delaying the early onset of lifestyle diseases. He added that sports imbibe leadership qualities besides adding the value to life through inculcating team spirit and tolerance.
He also said that District Administration shall organise more such events all across the district so that talent is tapped in a positive way.
District Sports Officer Noor ul Haq, other officers and officials were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the DC also inspected the ongoing works of Hockey turf at Boys Higher Secondary Pulwama which is a State of Art hockey playing field in the district.
