Srinagar, Oct 30 (KINS) Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institution of Engineers (India) J&K State Centre, Srinagar was held today. The meeting was attended by Er Aamir Ali, Chairman IEI and Er Aauqib Sultana Waheed Deva Honorary Secretary.
Er Bilal Ahmed Bhat, KAS, former Additional Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir presided over the function.
The Annual Report and Audited Accounts for the financial year 2021-21 were presented by the Honorary Secretary and results of elections for the Executive Committee were announced.
In accordance with the rule of Institution of Engineers, the Chairman is not eligible for re-election and therefore a new Executive Committee body was elected for the session 2021-23, which comprised of Dr. Raof Ahmed Khan, as Chairman and Er. Ferdous Ahad Bhat as Honorary Secretary. Dr Raof is posted as Principal GCET Safapora and Er Ferdous as AEE Mechanical (City Drainage). Other Members of the Executive Committee will comprise of Er Aamir Ali as Immediate Past Chairman and Er M. Aaquib Sultana Waheed Deva, as Immediate Past Honorary Secretary. Members from various Divisions elected include Er Abdul Rashid Bhat & Er Reyaz Ahmed Khan from Mechanical Division, Dr Tanveer Rasool from Chemical, Er Aijaz Ahmed Mir & Er Ghulam-u-Saqlain from Electrical, Er Jehangeer Ali from Computer, Er Mohammed Ashraf Fazili, Er Iftikhar Ahmed Hakeem & Iftikhar Ahmed Kakroo from Civil Division.
The Chief Guest Bilal Ahmed Bhat, said that IEI J&K State Centre has gained name and fame throughout the Country, for numerous initiatives and technical programmes organised by them and the credit goes to its outgoing Chairman Er. Aamir Ali and outgoing Honorary Secretary Er. Aaquib Deva. He implored the new Committee to look for avenues where technical services and incubation options can be provided by IEI to budding entrepreneurs. He also suggested that IEI should provide technical assistance to Govt, as there are many experts available with IEI.
The staff of IEI, Ishfaq Ahmed Dar, Ghulam Mohammed Khan, Amanullah and Hilal Ahmed Sheikh were appreciated for their dedicated and selfless service.( KINS)
