VC DDC Kupwara chairs Mega Block Diwas at Cheepora Lolab

 

Block  Diwas also held at Deedarpora, Awoora, Teetwal

KUPWARA, DECEMBER 01 ( KINS): Vice Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir today chaired a maga Block Diwas programme held at Cheepora in Lolab Subdivision of Kupwara district.

The Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din along with senior officers of District Administration participated in the programme.

The ASP Kupwara, Pradeep Singh, SDM Lolab Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, BDC Chairperson Wavoora, Mohammad Rafeeq, PRIs, Superintendent Engineers, District Officers, Executive Engineers, Senior Citizens and a large number of people attended the Block Diwas programme.

In his address, the VC DDC said that the objective of holding Block Diwas programme in far-flung areas like Cheepora is to provide governance  at the door steps of the people. He said that holding of Block Diwas programme is a unique developmental initiative given by the present LG Government to provide maximum governance at the doorsteps of the people. He complimented Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for reaching out to public, especially in far-flung and border areas of the district and resolving public issues in a time bound manner.

Haji Farooq projected various issues with regard to general development of Lolab area. He also enlisted the developmental works completed during the year. He stressed for acceleration of development tempo in the district so that targets fixed for the current  financial year could be achieved within the stipulated timeframe.

Deputy Commissioner in his address said that Government is committed to provide equitable developmental benefits in all urban and rural areas of the district. He said that three tier Panchayati Raj System  has increased the expectations of the public and assured that all demands shall be fulfilled step by step. He said Government has made administration responsible and accountable for the public and Block Diwas programme is one of the elements of the good governance. He directed the officers to conduct regular field visits and ensure that all public grievances shall be redressed timely.

Deputy Commissioner also enlisted the various development schemes and welfare programmes of the Government including Aap Ki Zameen Aap Ki Nigrani, PM Kisan Mandhan Yojna etc.

Later the VC and the Deputy Commissioner distributed baby kits among the mothers of girl childs under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao of ICDS department. They also distributed Soil Health Cards among the farmers,  besides  gave away the appreciation certificates to health workers for their best performance during  COVID period and distributed Golden Cards  and Eshram cards among beneficiaries.

BDC Chairperson Wavoora also spoke on the occasion and projected development issues of the area.

District Officers also spoke on the occasion and replied the queries raised by the public during the Block Diwas programme.  They also gave thorough awareness of developmental schemes and welfare programmes of their respective departments.

Block Development Officer, Wavoora/ Sogam,  Malik Aabid conducted programme and briefed about the achievements carried out in the Lolab Subdivision.

Block Diwas programme was also held at Deedarpora Qaziabad in Handwara subdivision under the Chairmanship of ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir.

Likewise Block Diwas programme was held at Awoora of Qadirabad block under the Chairmanship of ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat.

Block Diwas programme was also held at border Teetwal in Karnah subdivision under the Chairmanship of SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather.

The people projected their developmental issues in the Block Diwas programmes and officers heard them patiently and assured for timely redressal of the issues raised.( KINS)
