Police facilitated drug de-addiction awareness rally in Handwara

March 23: In view of the growing menace of drug abuse and addiction especially among youth, Police in Handwara in collaboration with Youth Civil Society Kashmir organised a drug de-addiction rally.

The rally was led by SHO PS Handwara besides other officers and officials of PS Handwara and members of Youth Civil Society Kashmir participated in the rally. The rally started from Police Station Handwara and culminated at New Bus Stand passing through Town Handwara. The participants took out rally, holding banners and placards against the sale and use of illicit drugs.

The aim of the rally was to spread awareness against drug abuse and its ill effects on the society. The organizers of the rally appealed the general public to prove yourself as responsible citizens by cooperating police in identifying drug addicts in their localities so that they can be counselled in better ways.

General public applauded the role of Police and suggested to conduct such rallies in future also so that the drug menace is curbed.
