If not a footballer then I would have been in the Army, says RKFC’ Devinder Singh

Srinagar Oct 26: If I would not have been a footballer then I would have been in the Army,” says Davinder Singh, who has joined Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) to play in I-League 2022-2023.

Hailing from Punjab, Davinder Singh, 27, started playing football at a young age. “Since childhood, I have been interested in joining the Army. Then a summer football camp was held in our village and I also went there to have some meals as I belonged from a poor family. Seeing many boys playing there, it motivated me to play football then I did not look behind,” he said, who plays at right back position.

“I first joined an academy then represented Punjab University in inter university football championship then played for U-23 national team following which for senior Indian team,” he said, who has played in various countries.

Davinder also played for Mumbai City FC in the ISL. “Hard work is key to success, I am sure every player will give 100 percent in I-League to make RKFC this season’s champion,” he added, whose favourite player is Alexandor Ronaldo.
