ACB files corruption case against JK Sports Council officer

Srinagar, Nov 17: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau has filed one more FIR against an official of J&K Sports Council over corruption charges.

According to an FIR, a copy of which lies with KNS, the case has been filed against Bilquees Mir, who is the director Water Sports, for not fulfilling conditions of recruitment.

She was recently appointment as judge at the Asian Games and is now under radder of ACB. On November 10 this a formal FIR was registered against her.

She was appointed as physical education teacher under relaxation of technical qualification prescribed for recruitment and was directed to undergo BPED training at Government College of Physical Education during the period of probation.

“Verification was conducted only after the RTI was filed in order to reveal whether she is fit for her present position in the department, which revealed that she failed to fulfil the requirement and the condition of the appointment order,” the official said.

According to the FIR Sports Council Srinagar promoted her dishonesty. “It further surfaced during the course of verification officers of Sports Council after entering in criminal conspiracy with each other bestowed undue benefit to her thereby caused corresponding loss to government exchequer.”
