Weather Update for Jammu & Kashmir: Dry Spell Expected Till 24th Jan, Possibility of Light Rain/Snow from 25th Onwards

Srinagar, Jan 14: In the latest weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, the region is poised to experience a continuation of dry weather until the 24th of January.
The forecast indicates the approach of feeble Western Disturbances (WDs) around the 16th and 20th evenings, bringing with them generally cloudy conditions and the prospect of light rain/snow over isolated middle and higher reaches during the specified nights.
“While no significant weather activity is expected until the 24th of January, the outlook for the subsequent days, spanning from the 25th to the 27th of January, suggests a possibility of light rain/snow at scattered places”.
The weather department emphasize that updates will be provided in the coming days for a clearer picture based on indications from various weather models.

“In the plains of Jammu Division, dense fog with cold day conditions is anticipated to persist until the 16th of January. This weather pattern poses challenges for residents and travelers alike, requiring precautionary measures during this period.
The meteorological center Srinagar encourages residents to stay informed about the evolving weather conditions and emphasizes the need for preparedness, especially considering the likelihood of precipitation later in the month.
