Srinagar, Jan 27: Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar Dr Bilal Bhat chaired the District Level Implementation Committee to oversee the effective implementation of the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Scheme. The committee, comprising key stakeholders from various line departments, reviewed and approved a total of 295 cases aimed at benefiting local artisans and craftsmen.
During the meeting, the DC emphasized the importance of expediting the verification process to ensure that maximum artisans are covered under the scheme. Stressing the need for swift action, he urged line departments to streamline their procedures and remove any bottlenecks hindering the smooth execution of the program.
The Prime Minister Vishwakarma Scheme aims to provide financial assistance and support to traditional artisans and craftsmen, enabling them to enhance their skills, access better tools and equipment, and ultimately improve their livelihoods. With the approval of these cases, a significant number of artisans in the Srinagar district are poised to receive much-needed support to sustain and grow their crafts.
Local artisans welcomed the proactive approach of the District Administration in facilitating the implementation of the scheme. They expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, which they believe will empower them to further develop their craft and contribute to the cultural and economic landscape of the region.
The District Level Implementation Committee resolved to continue its efforts in ensuring the efficient and equitable distribution of benefits under the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Scheme.
