Srinagar, Mar 16: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policy of zero-tolerance towards terrorism, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken decisive action by declaring four factions of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League as ‘Unlawful Associations’.
These factions, namely JKPL (Mukhtar Ahmed Waza), JKPL (Bashir Ahmad Tota), JKPL (Ghulam Mohammad Khan), and JKPL (Aziz Sheikh) led by Yaqoob Sheikh, have been implicated in instigating terrorism and promoting separatist sentiments in Jammu and Kashmir.
The move by the Modi government underscores its unwavering commitment to combating terrorism with utmost rigor and determination.
“By designating these organizations as unlawful, the government aims to disrupt their activities aimed at destabilizing the region and jeopardizing the peace and security of Jammu and Kashmir”.
“These factions of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League have been found to be actively involved in inciting violence, propagating secessionist ideologies, and facilitating acts of terror in the region. The decision to outlaw them comes as part of the government’s broader strategy to clamp down on terrorism and restore normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir”.
The MHA’s action sends a strong message that the Modi government will not tolerate any form of terrorism or subversive activities aimed at undermining the integrity and sovereignty of India.
It reaffirms the government’s resolve to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the interests of the nation and its citizens.
The declaration of these factions as unlawful associations is a significant step towards curbing the menace of terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
