Srinagar, Apr 01: In a bid to streamline preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, the District Electoral Officer (DEO) of Srinagar convened a pivotal meeting with Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) and Nodal Officers.
The meeting, held at the district headquarters, aimed at assessing the readiness of poll staff, progress on Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at polling stations, and the effectiveness of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities.
Chaired by the DEO, the gathering witnessed comprehensive discussions on various facets crucial to the electoral process.
Among the key agenda items were the status of poll staff training programs, ensuring their proficiency in handling election procedures, and addressing any logistical challenges faced in the process.
Furthermore, the meeting provided a platform to review the progress made in the implementation of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at polling stations. These facilities include basic amenities like drinking water, electricity, ramps for accessibility, and other essential infrastructure necessary for conducting fair and efficient elections.
In addition to focusing on the operational aspects, the DEO underscored the significance of robust SVEEP activities. Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation initiatives play a pivotal role in enhancing voter awareness, encouraging voter turnout, and fostering a culture of informed electoral participation among citizens.
