District Administration Anantnag Clarifies Viral Video on Construction Dispute

Srinagar, June 07: The District Administration of Anantnag has issued a clarification regarding a viral video circulating on social media that suggests a family is being prevented from building a house on their own land.
The administration stated that the video is misleading and the incident is being blown out of proportion. The dispute is not about a family being barred from constructing a house on their private property but involves a minor conflict between two neighbors over approximately 3 Marlas of state land used for private parking.
The issue arose when one party attempted to erect a boundary wall on the state land, leading to objections from the other party and resulting in a heated exchange.
Upon being notified, the civil and police administration intervened promptly, mediating between the parties and resolving the matter amicably on the spot.
The District Administration urges the public to verify information before sharing it on social media to prevent the spread of inaccurate narratives and unnecessary concern.
