SMC Commissioner ensures sanitation preparedness ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

Srinagar, June 10: In a bid to maintain cleanliness during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha festivities, SMC Commissioner Owais Ahmad stated that the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has mobilized its workforce to ensure proper sanitation.
Commissioner highlighted the SMC’s commendable efforts last year when 134 metric tons of waste were collected and scientifically disposed of during the Eid celebrations.
This year, the SMC aims to replicate and improve upon this success.
Ahmad urged residents to refrain from placing animal hides and offal in open areas, warning that those found violating this directive would face fines.
He assured that comprehensive sanitation arrangements would also be in place for the Mata Kheer Bhawani festival, underscoring the SMC’s commitment to maintaining public hygiene during major events.
With these preparations, the SMC aims to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents during the festive season.
