Home Minister Amit Shah likely to chair high-level security meeting on June 16 to discuss Amarnath Yatra, J&K situation

Srinagar, June 14 (KINS): Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to chair a high-level meeting on June 16 in the National capital to discuss the current security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources the meeting, which will also focus on the overall security measures for the upcoming Annual Amarnath Yatra, will see the attendance of key figures including National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha, and senior Army officials.
Sources indicate that the meeting aims to evaluate the security preparedness in light of recent developments and ensure a safe and peaceful pilgrimage season.
The Amarnath Yatra, which attracts thousands of devotees from across the country, is a significant event that necessitates meticulous planning and robust security arrangements.
Sources told news agency KINS that security agencies, including the Jammu and Kashmir Police, will present a detailed security plan to the Home Minister. This plan is expected to cover various aspects such as intelligence gathering, deployment of forces, crowd management, and emergency response protocols.
The focus will be on addressing potential threats and ensuring that pilgrims can undertake the yatra without any hindrance.
In addition to security measures for the Amarnath Yatra, the meeting will also address broader security concerns in the region.
This includes recent incidents of violence, cross-border infiltration, and measures to maintain law and order. The collaboration between various security agencies and their coordinated efforts will be a key point of discussion.
