Srinagar, June 14 (KINS): Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and ADGP Anand Jain convened a crucial meeting with representatives from Civil Society Jammu to meticulously plan for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2024.
The meeting held to ensure the yatra proceeds seamlessly and safely, also focused on tackling misinformation that could potentially disrupt the pilgrimage.
According to news agency KINS in the meeting, various aspects concerning the pilgrimage were discussed, including crowd management, security arrangements, and healthcare facilities along the yatra route. Emphasizing the importance of accurate information dissemination, the officials and civil society members explored strategies to counter any false narratives circulating on social media platforms.
Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar highlighted the collaborative effort needed to safeguard the yatra’s sanctity and security. “We are committed to ensuring a safe and comfortable pilgrimage experience for all devotees,” he stated, urging the public to rely on credible sources for information related to the yatra.
ADGP Anand Jain echoed these sentiments, stressing the role of social media in spreading both genuine updates and misinformation. “Our efforts include closely monitoring online platforms and swiftly debunking any misinformation to maintain public trust and safety,” he affirmed.
Civil Society Jammu members expressed their readiness to support the administration in disseminating accurate information and assisting pilgrims during the yatra period.
They pledged to work hand-in-hand with authorities to uphold the traditions and spiritual significance of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra.(KINS)
