Army Foils Infiltration Attempt at Machhal Sector, One Pakistani Intruder, Indian Army Soldier Killed

Srinagar, July 26:The Indian Army reported on Saturday that a group of two to three armed personnel crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal Sector, exploiting bad weather and poor visibility to fire on a forward Army post from close proximity. “Alert troops responded vigorously, resulting in an intense exchange of fire. One Pakistani intruder was killed, and weapons, ammunition, and war-like stores were recovered. The identification and affiliation of the Pakistani national are being ascertained”.
“During the firefight, two Indian soldiers sustained grave injuries and were immediately evacuated to the Base Hospital in Srinagar. Unfortunately, one of these soldiers succumbed to his injuries. The other soldier is responding well to treatment and is currently stable”.
“This incident is part of a pattern of similar infiltration attempts, actively aided and abetted by the Pakistani Army, exploiting thick foliage and poor visibility conditions. These attempts have consistently been thwarted and disrupted by alert Indian troops”.
“The Indian Army remains resolute in its commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the Line of Control and defeating the nefarious designs of the Pakistan Army”.
