Srinagar, August 13: R.R. Swain, Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, inaugurated a new Police Post in Chandanwari, Pahalgam today. The ceremony included a tribute to fallen martyrs, with DGP Swain and senior officers planting saplings in their honor.
Accompanied by key officials including ADGP Headquarters M.K. Sinha, ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar, and IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, the DGP was received by DIG CID Kashmir Sujit Kumar, DIG South Kashmir Javaid Iqbal Matoo, SSP Anantnag Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, and other local officers.
Following the inauguration, DGP Swain toured the new facility, which aims to enhance infrastructure and provide better amenities for police personnel. This development is part of ongoing efforts by the Jammu and Kashmir Police to improve law enforcement and community safety.
In a moving tribute, the DGP and officers participated in the ‘EK PED SHAHEEDON KE NAAM’ campaign, planting saplings in memory of Martyrs SI Mohd Amin Magloo, SgCt Ghulam Rasool Bhat, Ct. Mohd Amin Shah, Ct. Ali Mohd Najar, Ct. Bashir Ahmed Wani, and Ct. Irshad Ahmad Sheikh. This initiative seeks to honor the sacrifices of these brave individuals while promoting patriotism and environmental awareness within the community.
