Srinagar, August 20 (KINS): A key section of the road connecting Bemina Bypass to Bemina Crossing has become a commuter’s nightmare, riddled with large potholes that are causing severe traffic disruptions and frustration among daily travelers.
The increasingly hazardous state of this vital stretch is raising alarm, with constant traffic jams and a high risk of vehicle damage, especially for two-wheelers. The worsening condition has made navigating the road both difficult and dangerous.
Asim Shabir, a local scooter rider, voiced his concerns: “The potholes are massive and create serious problems for riders like me. It’s not just inconvenient—it’s dangerous. I’m always worried about damaging my scooter or getting into an accident.”
Frequent gridlock and escalating vehicle wear are just some of the ongoing issues, compounded by the road’s role as a key commuter route. Despite recent government efforts to improve road infrastructure across the region, this particular stretch has seemingly been left behind.
Zahoor Ahmad, a concerned resident, underscored the urgency of the situation: “We appreciate the government’s work on other roads, but this stretch has been ignored for too long.
The damage to vehicles and constant jams are unbearable. We appeal to LG Manoj Sinha and the Chief Secretary to address this issue immediately and accelerate the repair process.”
News agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) reported that with growing frustration in the local community, residents are hopeful that their calls for action will lead to swift repairs and improved road conditions, ensuring safer and smoother travel for all.(KINS)
