DDC reviews functioning of PDD sector in Anantnag

Srinagar, June 08 (KINS): The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, K K Sidha today convened a meeting of officials to review the status of ongoing 33KV Sub-Stations, distribution & languishing projects.

The DDC directed the concerned Engineers to ensure uninterrupted power supply in all 80 red zones of the district as per SOPs and to expedite the up gradation of 0.5 HT Conductor from Sangam to Pahalgam, Wanpoh to Gopalpora, Lisser, Kehribal and Sagam receiving stations to ensure round the clock power supply for Pahalgam.

The DDC directed to appoint a transformer custodian for health certification of the transformers of the area to curb the damage of transformers and also rationalise the staff for the said purpose.

He also directed for cent percent billing coverage matching with registered consumers so that illegal use of power supply is stopped. He also asked for submitting the list of damaged and repaired transformers of the last 05 years. The DDC also ensured the transfer of government land at Nowshara required for augmenting the capacity of the Bijbehara receiving station.

The meeting discussed progress made under various state and centrally sponsored schemes, action taken on decisions of previous review meetings and status of other programmes and schemes being implemented in the district to augment power infrastructure.

The meeting was informed that works under all the centrally sponsored schemes including Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), IPDS, PMDP, SOBGGAY and under other schemes are under progress and will be completed within the targeted time frame.

The meeting was informed that under DDUGJY, work is in progress in four towns including Mattan, Bijbehara, Seerhamdaan and Shangus while it has already been completed in Qazigund town and will be completed within next six months in Anantnag, Aishmuqam, Achabal, Seer Hamdan and Dooru.

Under RADPR, LT Network of 5 KMs has been completed and two projects under Sub Transmission Development (STD), which have been taken up under languishing projects, one stands commissioned at Shamsipora.

While under PMGD out of 181 habitations, 45 habitations stand completed and work is in progress in other 105 habitations.  Similarly, under DDUGY out of 54 habitations taken up under Phase-I, 20 habitations have been completed and work in 07 habitations in progress.

Regarding the up gradation of 10 MVA capacity receiving station at Verinag, it was given out that work on compound walling and foundation has been completed while construction work on control room building is in its final stage.

The 6.3 MVA capacity Receiving Station at Ar–Khashipora, Cheeni Wadder and Batkoot, for which equipment and additional transformers have already been procured, stands completed.

With regard to “B2V” programme demands, the DDC was informed that 2000 electric polls have been installed in the district. While funds are required to clear the pending liability. 

The meeting was attended by SE PDD, Xens of PDD Anantnag, Bijbehara, Kulgam STD Bijbehara and all AEEs, JEEs of the district.(KINS)
