Srinagar, Aug 28 (KINS): With the assembly elections approaching, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has stepped up his campaign in Chanapora, his home constituency.
Bukhari is meeting with local residents to ask for their support and votes, while highlighting his party’s focus on welfare and development. During his campaign, he discussed promises from the Apni Party’s manifesto, including plans for increased power subsidies, better pension schemes, job creation, and improved infrastructure.
“We’ve outlined our commitments in the manifesto,” Bukhari said. “If elected, we will raise the old age and widow pensions from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000. We also plan to provide 2 lakh government jobs and stipends for unemployed graduates.”
Bukhari stressed his party’s dedication to social welfare, mentioning the Ujjwala gas scheme, which offers four free cylinders. He also promised to improve infrastructure in education, healthcare, water supply, and other essential services.
He emphasized that the Apni Party is independent and not part of any political alliances, criticizing past coalition governments for harming the interests of people in Jammu and Kashmir. “We are not in any alliance and have no support from any other party. Alliances have hurt the people of J&K in the past,” Bukhari said.
Bukhari also criticized previous governments for their handling of youth issues, promising to address their grievances if his party wins. “The previous leaders should be ashamed. We will withdraw FIRs against youth and offer a general amnesty if we come to power,” he added.
He assured voters of his commitment to unity and peace, promising a fresh start for those who have been wronged. “We believe in unity and will not act against our own people,” Bukhari concluded.(KINS)
