Omar Abdullah Invited to Form Government in J&K, Oath Ceremony on October 16

Jammu, October 14 ( KINS ): In a significant political development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has formally invited Omar Abdullah, the Leader of the Legislature Party of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), to form the new government in Jammu and Kashmir. The invitation comes following letters of support from key political figures across various parties.

Omar Abdullah’s election as the leader of the Legislature Party was endorsed by several prominent political leaders, including his father, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the JKNC, as well as officials from the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, CPI(M), Aam Aadmi Party, and independent Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).

In a letter addressed to Omar Abdullah, Sinha expressed his pleasure at the unanimous decision to elect him and confirmed that the Oath of Office and Secrecy would be administered on October 16, 2024, at SKICC in Srinagar.

“I have received a letter from Dr. Farooq Abdullah dated October 11, 2024, informing that you have been unanimously elected as Leader of the Legislature Party,” Sinha stated in his official letter. He also mentioned letters from Congress leader Tariq Hameed Karra, CPI(M) Secretary G.N. Malik, AAP National Secretary Pankaj Kumar Gupta, and several independent MLAs offering their support to the new government.

“I am pleased to invite you to form and lead the Government of Jammu and Kashmir,” the letter read, confirming the ceremonial oath-taking event.

The Oath Ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on October 16, 2024, at SKICC in Srinagar, where Omar Abdullah and his council of ministers will officially assume office. Sinha extended his best wishes to Abdullah, hoping for a successful and productive tenure for the benefit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.( KINS )
