Police arrests 4 gamblers in Baramulla; Stake money, playing cards seized

Srinagar ,Oct 14 : Continuing its drive against social crimes, Police in Baramulla have arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards.

Acting on a reliable information regarding the gambling activities, a police party headed by SHO PS Gulmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg raided woods on the Gulmarg- Tangmarg. During raid 3 Gamblers were arrested red handed while gambling & Stake money of Rs-6600/- & playing cards recovered from their possession was seized on the spot. They have been identified as Javid Ahmad son of Ab Rahim resident of Noorbagh, Younis Ahmad son of Mohd Shafi resident of Qanarwari, Manzoor Ahmad son of Ab Rashid & Feroz Ahmad son of Gh Mohd both residents of Safakadal Srinagar.They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Gulmarg and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.“`
