Police facilitates Police Public Darbar in Ganderbal

Srinagar , October 19: On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Wasim Qadri-JKPS, Police in Ganderbal facilitated police public meeting/darbar at Police Station Kangan.
The public darbar was conducted in the premises of Police Station Kangan & chaired by SDPO Kangan Mohammad Ashraf-JKPS. SHO PS Kangan, other senior police officers & representatives from all walks of the community participated in the darbar. The purpose of the darbar was to build a working relationship with the community representatives, discussing key safety issues, and setting up a framework for regular communication. Moreover, the aim was to aware public about the eminent role of the Police in the community such as community policing principles, crime prevention strategies, besides engaging in the issues like crime reduction, emergency response, and community programs.

During the darbar, public representatives raised many concerns & issues related to traffic, drugs, etc besides shared valuable opinions. The concerns, views and opinions of the participants were listened patiently by the chairing officer and potential solutions were offered. The contact details were shared by the chairing officer to the participants to reach out District Police Ganderbal for any kind of assistance or help at any time. Moreover, ill consequences of social menace like drug addiction, gambling, theft, black marketing & hoarding were thoroughly discussed and participants were requested to refrain themselves from such menaces.

At the end of the darbar, the participants assured their full cooperation to District Police Ganderbal in tackling social evils. They also appreciated the efforts of J&K Police in facilitating community interaction/Darbar, where participants could express their notions and opinions freely. At the end, the interactive session concluded with vote of thanks from both the sides.
