Srinagar, Oct 21 (KINS): A major anti-terror operation is underway in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, where security forces have recovered one body and continue searching for others.
SSP Baramulla Mohammad Zaid Malik confirmed that the operation, which began based on intelligence about the presence of 2-3 infiltrators, is still active.
In an update on the situation, SSP as per news agency KINS said, “One dead body has been found, and we are still searching for the rest. The army has recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition. Weapons have been recovered, but as the operation is ongoing, we cannot disclose further details at this moment.”
When questioned about the number of infiltrators, SSP Baramulla mentioned that initial reports suggested there were 2-3 individuals. “We found one body, and are searching for more. There is a possibility that another infiltrator may have been shot, and we are actively looking for the body. If the second has not escaped back across the border, he might still be in the area,” he added.
The security forces are continuing their operation in the area, with heightened vigilance across the Line of Control to prevent any further infiltration attempts. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
It isto mention here that the Indian Army yesterday has said the the joint team neutralised one heavily armed terrorist and recovered 01xAK Rifle, 02xAK Magazines, 57xAK Rounds, 02xPistols, 03xPistol Magazines and other war-like stores from the site.(KINS)
