Srinagar, Oct 24 (KINS): A seven-day calligraphy workshop at Life School Charar-e-Sharief, organized by the Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages in partnership with Whispers Ink, successfully ended with over 100 students taking part. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the basics of calligraphy, helping revive interest in this traditional art form.
Led by five experienced calligraphers, including renowned artists Mustaf Ibn Jameel and Sabreena Nabi, the students received hands-on training in calligraphy techniques. The goal was to educate and inspire the younger generation to appreciate and keep this ancient art alive.
Sabreena Nabi highlighted the importance of these workshops in preserving cultural heritage. She stressed the need for more such events to ensure the continued survival of calligraphy in today’s digital world.
The closing ceremony was attended by Principal Secretary of Kashmir Art and Culture, Harvinder Kour, who praised the organizers for promoting cultural arts and encouraging young people to preserve traditional crafts.
The workshop was widely appreciated for helping students express their creativity and contributing to the revival of calligraphy in the region.(KINS)
