SSP Kupwara recognizes police team for successful conviction in major NDPS Case

Srinagar , Nov 05 ( KINS) : An award ceremony held at the District Police Headquarters recognized the outstanding efforts of a police team in a significant NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case. SSP Ghulam Jeelani Wani presented awards to eight officers and officials for their crucial roles in the investigation, which resulted in the seizure of 15 kilograms of brown sugar and the conviction of two individuals.

The investigation was led by Inspector Waseem Ahmad, with notable support from Ab Rashid Dar (APP), Inspector Azad, and Sub-Inspector Zaffar. Their collective efforts culminated in a judgment by the Additional Sessions Judge, sentencing the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposing a fine of ₹2 lakh each.

During the ceremony, SSP Wani praised the awardees, highlighting that their hard work not only brings pride to their families but also serves as an inspiration to others in the police force. The cash rewards and DGP’s Commendation Certificates, sanctioned by the Police Headquarters, aim to boost the morale of police personnel and encourage ongoing excellence in investigations.

SSP Wani expressed his best wishes for the team’s future endeavors, emphasizing the importance of dedication and professionalism in law enforcement.
