LG Manoj Sinha inaugurates J&K textile sourcing fair 2024

Urges stakeholders to chip in to promote unique textile products of J&K

Srinagar, Nov 28 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the ‘Jammu and Kashmir Textile Sourcing Fair 2024,’ focusing on skill development, capacity building, and innovation to meet the demands of the global market.
The two-day event aims to boost the region’s textile sector and connect artisans, designers, and entrepreneurs with new opportunities.
Speaking at the event as per news agency KINS, LG Sinha praised the creativity of J&K’s artisans and their dedication to preserving the purity of traditional crafts.
He emphasized the importance of skill development and capacity building, stating, “Workshops and training sessions will empower youth with knowledge of the sector and help them tap into global markets.”
Highlighting the recent achievements, LG Sinha noted that exports of J&K’s handicrafts have doubled in the last two years.
He credited the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting the mission of reviving and modernizing traditional crafts.
He urged stakeholders and buyers from across the country to support and promote the unique textile products of Jammu and Kashmir. “Your efforts can create new markets, ensuring peace and prosperity for our artisans,” he added.(KINS)
