Srinagar, Nov 29(KINS): Ruqaya Jan, a courageous acid attack survivor from Srinagar, Friday shared her inspiring and heart-wrenching 12-year journey of resilience and recovery, offering a message of hope for all those who have faced similar tragedies.
In an emotional press conference here as per news gathering agency KINS, she reflected on her battles—both physical and emotional—and spoke with profound strength about the power of hope and the determination to never give up.
In 2013, Ruqaya’s life was shattered when a man threw acid at her, leaving her with devastating burns on her face and body. Despite the overwhelming pain and the deep scars that marked her body and soul, Ruqaya refused to be defeated.
“The pain was unbearable and the scars were deep, but I never lost hope,” she shared. “To every acid attack survivor in Kashmir, I want to say: do not lose hope. I’ve lived through the darkest of times, but today I stand before you, stronger and more determined than ever.”
Ruqaya credits her recovery to the extraordinary care she received at Apollo Hospital. “The treatment I received there was nothing short of world-class. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Shaheen Norezan, the plastic surgeon, whose compassion and professionalism helped her sail through–(KINS)
