Our every decision will be pro-people, Govt will come up with a statement on Townships: Tanvir Sadi

Srinagar, Dec 06 (KINS): In response to the ongoing criticism by the PDP regarding the proposed satellite townships in Kashmir, senior National Conference leader and Advisor to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Nasir Aslam Wani Friday said that any township will be for locals.

“We are still grappling with the consequences of the PDP’s wrongs. If any township is established, it will be for locals. There is no reason to make this an issue,” Wani told reporters at Nawa e Subh here as per news agency KINS.

Wani’s remarks came during the National Conference’s provincial meet, where party leaders gathered to discuss key regional issues. He dismissed concerns about demographic changes, stating that the government’s focus remains on the welfare of the local population.

NC leader Tanvir Sadiq, the party’s Chief Spokesman assured the public that the government would provide an official response to the PDP’s claims. “Any decision taken will always prioritize the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Sadiq added, urging the public not to amplify the controversy. PDP had yesterday termed the upcoming satellite township project as a move to change the demography of Kashmir adding that the elected government must come clean on the project.

Meanwhile, NC felicitated the new provincial president Showkat Mir.(KINS)
