Mission Director JJM holds maiden meeting after assuming charge
SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 13: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Khurseed Ahmad Shah, today convened maiden meeting of core team of the Mission at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by the officers of Mission Directorate and consultants while Jammu based officers and consultants participated online.
Mission Director was apprised of the major components of JJM by Officer on Special Duty, Reyaz Bhat. He was informed that 3253 Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) are in different phases of execution under JJM against which 1402 have been completed, so far.
The MD sought the status of technical assessment of schemes which were assigned to the consultants and project Managers for ascertaining the technical and functional feasibility of different components of schemes completed and under execution including source sustainability. He was informed that 2382 schemes were assigned for verifications to consultants and District Project Management Unit’s (DPMU’s), of which, the reports of 2261 schemes have been received. The issues identified in these have been shared with the concerned Chief Engineers for taking appropriate action and verification of other schemes is under process.
The Mission Director directed the consultants to speed up the process and complete it within 10 days positively. He also emphasized the need for taking necessary steps to find solutions to the issues in the field so that the Mission is completed within fixed timelines.
