COVID-19: DC B’pora calls for adhering to SOP’s

BANDIPORA, JUNE 17: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Ravinder Kumar Wednesday interacted with the Block Development Chairmen of various blocks to discuss the measures being taken by the district administration in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.

He sought their support in creating awareness among the masses regarding use of masks, maintaining social distancing and adhering to other Covid related SOP’s.

The DC said that the district administration has devised a 14-point strategy that shall involve community leaders, NGOs and government departments to create awareness and sensitize people about the COVID-19.

He said 151 Corona Action Teams have been formed in the district with 8 members at Panchayat level with PRI representatives, Lumberdars, Asha workers and Anganwari workers as its members and they shall be responsible for creating awareness at grassroots level on usage of masks, hand sanitizers, regular hand wash and adhering to social distancing norms.

He further said that they shall also distribute IEC material like Pamphlets/ installation of Banners, etc.

The DC said that the community has to play an active role by strictly adopting precautionary measures to break the chain of the spread of virus for the safety of their own lives and added that any loophole will have serious repercussions as was evident in other countries that fell prey to the pandemic very seriously.

Among others Assistant Commissioner Development, BDOs and other senior officers were present on the occasion, the interaction was part of the awareness campaign HIFAZAT: Bandipora Fights Back COVID-19.
