Srinagar, Dec 28 (KINS): Following heavy snowfall across the Kashmir Valley, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today visited District Hospital Ganderbal to assess the facilities and services available to patients during the inclement weather.
During the visit, the Chief Minister toured various hospital units, inspecting the availability of essential medicines, staff on duty, and the functionality of the central heating system. The Medical Superintendent briefed the Chief Minister on the hospital’s preparedness, confirming that the central heating system was fully operational. However, the Superintendent also raised concerns about a shortage of medical staff and ambulances in the district.
In response, CM Omar Abdullah emphasized his government’s commitment to improving healthcare services throughout Jammu & Kashmir. He assured that necessary steps would be taken to address the highlighted issues. The Chief Minister also directed the hospital administration to ensure strict enforcement of duty rosters for medical and paramedical staff, to ensure continuous services and prevent any inconvenience to patients.
During the visit, CM Abdullah was accompanied by his advisor Nasir Aslam Wani and other concerned officials.(KINS)
