CM Omar Abdullah reiterates commitment to fulfilling election promises

KINS Correspondent
Srinagar, Jan 2 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering on the promises made during the elections.
Addressing his first press conference since assuming office, the Chief Minister stated the importance of staying true to the pledges made to the people.
“We received the electorate’s support based on our promises. We are committed to fulfilling them and have not backtracked. A good beginning has been made,” Omar said, as reported by KINS.
Flanked by his cabinet ministers, advisor, and chief secretary, the Chief Minister expressed hope for the early restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
“It did not take us much time to understand how to govern as a Union Territory. Now, we are focused on addressing the issues faced by the people,” he said, adding that the press conference was intended to gather public concerns rather than announce major policies.
Omar also highlighted his government’s support for press freedom, stating, “We want the media to work freely without any pressures.” (KINS)
