If people of Pulwama don’t want NIT and then it can be shifted to another place, says CM Omar Abdullah

KINS Correspondent
Srinagar, Jan 2 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said his government is committed to safeguarding agricultural land in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking during a press interaction, the Chief Minister addressed concerns regarding the proposed establishment of a National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Pulwama.
“We are committed to protecting agricultural land. There is a proposal to establish an NIT in Pulwama, but some people have reservations. If the people of Pulwama do not want the NIT in their district, we are ready to shift it to another location. There are other districts keen on hosting the NIT,” Omar said, according to news agency KINS.
The statement comes amidst growing concerns over land use and development priorities in the region. (KINS)
