Srinagar, Jan 02 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir, leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma has criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the National Conference (NC) government for failing to fulfill their election promises, despite being in office for over two months.
Taking to his official account on X (formerly Twitter) Sharma as per news gathering agency KINS, accused the ruling party of “misleading voters with grand promises during the 2024 assembly elections and said their inaction post-election has left the people of Jammu and Kashmir feeling betrayed”.
“Reminding the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, that more than two months have passed but not even a single poll promise as
Contained in the election manifesto of NC is implemented, Omar Abdullah should take pity on the people and start doing something constructive in the UT”.
Sunil Sharma further said, “NC had misled the innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir during the 2024 assembly election campaigning on false promises projecting itself as a master with a magic stick that would bring down the moon and establish jannat here. After winning election and forming government, both the NC and the Chief minister have utterly failed to realize the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and take effective steps to provide any kind of relief”.
Sunil Sharma further said, “it seems that the Chief Minister and others enjoying ministerial posts are satisfied and happy that they achieved what have been their dreams of assuming power and that they have no accountability now”.
Leader of Opposition further added that “simply holding media interaction and making no announcement relating to the poll promises itself speaks that the Chief Minister is not in mood to start any work aimed at public welfare and development, which is very unfortunate”.
He said that “people are eagerly looking towards the CM daily and waiting to hear anything good from him but are feeling betrayed”.
“The people have seen the real face of NC and feeling cheated as there is not any signal of something good going to take place in near future”, Sunil said, adding that the voters had voted NC with very high hopes but all dashed to ground which is visible from the working of the government”.
Sunil Sharma appealed to the “people not to get misled again in the future assembly bi- election and Panchayat, ULB elections and teach NC lesson for ditching them”.(KINS)
