Kulgam, Jan 11 (KINS): The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam has successfully resolved several cases of online financial fraud, recovering a total of ₹13,69,377 from fraudsters.
Multiple complaints were received involving fraudulent schemes where victims were lured into fake investment opportunities with promises of high returns on additional deposits.
Acting promptly, the Cyber Police Kulgam collected evidence and obtained critical information from the victims. Using advanced investigative techniques, they managed to freeze the fraudulent transactions, resulting in the recovery of the stolen amount, which was subsequently credited back to the victims.
The police have urged the public to remain vigilant against online scams, such as: Fake trading platforms.
Suspicious links or fake SMS credit messages.Unverified applications or software.
They advised citizens to exercise caution when receiving video calls from unknown numbers or sharing personal information online.
