Police arrest two drug peddlers in Srinagar; contraband substances recovered

Srinagar, Jan 13 (KINS): In its ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking, the police in Srinagar have arrested two drug peddlers and seized a significant quantity of contraband substances.
A team from PS Chanapora established a checkpoint at Chanapora and intercepted a Tempo Traveller (JK02AF-1776) carrying two individuals. They were identified as:
Umer Manzoor Rather, also known as “Manadev,” a resident of Natipora.
Yawer Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Baghat Kanipora.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a substantial quantity of contraband substances.
A case under FIR No. 03/2025 has been registered at PS Chanapora under the NDPS Act, and investigations are underway.
The police appeal to the public to assist in the fight against drug trafficking by providing relevant information. Together, we can work towards creating a safer, drug-free society.(KINS)
