DGP visits forward areas in Basantgarh, reviews operational readiness at tri-junction of Kathua, Doda & Udhampur

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KINS): Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police (DGP), Nalin Prabhat, visited the forward areas of Basantgarh to assess the operational preparedness at the strategic tri-junction of Kathua, Doda, and Udhampur.
According to news agency KINS, the DGP commended the personnel for their exceptional dedication and hard work in maintaining security in these critical areas.
He emphasized the importance of building and sustaining public trust and directed the forces to implement enhanced security measures to ensure peace and stability in the region.
The DGP was accompanied by Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu Zone, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range; Amod Nagpure, SSP Udhampur; and senior officers from the CRPF and Army.
The DGP interacted with personnel deployed at Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) and lauded their relentless commitment to maintaining peace and security.
Acknowledging the tough working conditions, he commended their dedication and resilience. He urged them to tackle emerging threats with determination while ensuring the safety and well-being of the local populace remains a top priority.
Highlighting the importance of community engagement, the DGP stressed fostering trust and collaboration between the police and the residents of Basantgarh. He directed officers to intensify outreach efforts, address public grievances promptly, and work closely with local stakeholders to build a stronger sense of security and unity in the region.
During the visit, the DGP reviewed ongoing development initiatives aimed at enhancing police infrastructure and operational capabilities in the area. He emphasized modernizing equipment, improving mobility, and leveraging technology to ensure swift and effective responses to security challenges.
The ADGP, DIG, and SSP briefed the DGP on the current security scenario, highlighting key developments and achievements in maintaining law and order. They also discussed measures being implemented to address gaps and enhance coordination among various security agencies.
In a related development, Additional Director General (ADG) of BSF Western Command, Satish Khandare, along with Inspector General (IG) of Jammu Frontier, D.K. Boora met with DGP Nalin Prabhat.
The meeting focused on crucial issues pertaining to border security, management, and operational coordination among various forces. Strategies were discussed to ensure seamless operational coordination, vital for maintaining security along the sensitive border areas.(KINS)
