Funeral prayers held near Hyderpora residence

Srinagar, February 27 (KINS): Hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers of Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, father-in-law of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq, who passed away late last night after a prolonged illness.

While his funeral prayers (Nimaz-e-Janaza) were initially scheduled to be held at Jama Masjid Srinagar after Zuhr prayers, authorities did not permit it, leading to the prayers being offered near his residence in Hyderpora. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq led the funeral prayers, which were attended by hundreds, including National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah.

Following the prayers, Dr. Masoodi was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Khrew, Pampore.

Condolences (Taziyat) according to news agency KINS will be received at his residence, House No. 207, Sector B, Westend Colony, near Tengpora Bridge, Hyderpora, Srinagar.

Dr. Masoodi was a doctor by profession and had spent several years in the United States. (KINS)
